Haven of Hope
The Haven of Hope, Inc., a domestic violence 501©3 services program, was established in 1985 to carry out the mission of providing emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence. In 1997, new administration found it necessary to provide support services outside of the shelter environment and the first Outreach office was opened. A second was opened in the summer of 2000, a third opened in May 2001. The Board and Executive Director revised the mission to meet the new vision of programming. The new mission was to provide pro-active, curative, and preventive measures against domestic violence, and to provide caring support and resources to strengthen and empower victims to resolve their own issues and problems. March 1, 2009 we expand our vision to provide services to victims of sexual assault.
Support is offered through an array of services to include: hotline/crisis counseling, emergency food, transportation, and shelter, individual assessment/service planning, individual/group counseling, advocacy, and court/legal assistance. Training, educational, and prevention sessions are available for civic and community groups, schools, churches, and professional in-service training to other agency staff members. Current geographic service area encompasses persons and/or organizations in Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall and Moore Counties in the State of Tennessee. The Haven of Hope is the only domestic violence services program in the aforementioned geographical area(s). As domestic violence knows no boundaries, we coordinate with other shelter programs to provide services to victims in need residing outside this area.
